Westmalle Dubbel

A strong dark beer of reddish-brown color, with an alcohol content of 7.0%. It is distinguished by a rich taste and aroma of coffee, dark malt and fruit, with a long, dry aftertaste. This is the first example of a Trappist Dubbel beer. It was launched in 1856, and the recipe for production was last changed in 1926. "Westmalle" is a Trappist beer produced and bottled in the brewery of the abbey "Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur" in the village of Westmalle (Belgium). Westmalle is one of the eight Trappist beer brands.
