Põhjala Baltic Porter Day 2026

Traditionally, every third Saturday of January, the international Baltic Porter Day is celebrated, and one of the main ambassadors of the style worldwide is Põhjala from Tallinn, Estonia, who for the fourth consecutive year are celebrating the unique holiday with a special beer that is poured simultaneously in selected locations around the world.
This year, their special Baltic Porter is a full-bodied 10% rye elixir with added pandan leaves and join in the collective celebration of the day dedicated to an extremely interesting style of beer. Pandan is a tropical plant widespread in Southeast Asia and gives strong notes of vanilla pods, coconut and almonds, often called the "Vanilla of the East". Rye is one of the main cereals in the traditional Estonian table and is quite purposefully used as the basis for this extremely pleasant dark beer.
