Aecht Schlenkerla Weichsel Rotbier

Rotbier is a type of red lager from Franconia that, for a variety of reasons, disappeared completely in the 19th century. However, in 1997, Schlenkerla revived the style and smoked it in cherry wood, which gives it an almost fruity smokiness and a much more elegant finish than traditional oak smoking.
The Schlenkerla brewery in the German town of Bamberg was the first to start producing smoked beer.
